Collaboration Strengthens Research and Education for Canadian Poultry Industry

Canadian Poultry Research Council & Aviagen LogosHuntsville, Ala. – As the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) celebrates 25 years supporting Canadian poultry research, it also marks more than 10 years of industry collaboration with Aviagen.

The poultry genetics company signed on as a corporate sponsor with CPRC in 2015, and has been contributing annually towards research funding that’s coordinated by CPRC on behalf of the Canadian poultry sector.

“Collaboration is a key part of our model, and working together with Aviagen means we can invest even more in people and research to deliver new ideas and innovations to the Canadian poultry industry,” says Caroline Wilson, CPRC Executive Director.

In 2018, Aviagen added another layer of support to Canadian poultry research with a postgraduate scholarship – a $5,000 annual contribution towards a poultry research student in Canada. For 2025, they doubled their commitment awarding two scholarships, bringing the total number of postgraduates they’ve supported to eight. Read more about the recipients.

For Aviagen, the long-term commitment is a great way to deliver value to the industry by supporting the next generation of poultry professionals and advancing research focused on real-world challenges along the entire poultry value chain.

“We are very proud to work with an organization that consistently brings together research and education to move the industry forward,” says Stuart Biss, Regional Vice President, North Region with Aviagen. “CPRC’s work helps connect academia and commercial production, and that’s where real progress happens. And the industry benefits from better knowledge, strong talent and research that’s focused on real-world challenges.”
